According to this "UK Fundraising Page' written by Howard Lake, more than £40,000 was raised by friends and colleagues of Andy Payne.

Andy was a cameraman based in the Midlands, working on programmes such as "Gardeners' World".

Andy died of Leukaemia in 2016.
Former colleagues and cricketing friends formed a committee with the aim of raising enough to fund a specialist research nurse at the Centre for Clinical Haematology ar Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital. They achieved this goal with some to spare.

Charity auctions for events that 'money couldn't buy' created by Andy's friends and colleagues were the main way of raising the funds.
