With thanks to Ron-C, pictures show the old BBC Sports Club-house burnt to the ground.

"This Is Local London", here, updates the information with a report that 60 firefighters and eight fire engines were involved.

The fire was brought under control by 2044 hrs on Friday.

According to newspaper reports in 2016, here, in "Your Local Guardian", the site had been deserted since the BBC sold it in 2005, which is when "Travellers" in 8 caravans occupied the site.
