At the recent "International Radio Programme Awards" held in New York, the BBC was awarded the title "Broadcaster Of The Year".

The BBC also earned one Grand Award, 7 Gold and 5 Bronze trophies, 5 Finalist Certificates and two UNDPI Awards..

The Grand Award was for a documentary "A New Life in Europe", in which BBC reporter Manween Rana followed a Syrian family as they searched for a refuge in Europe.

BBC Radio Solent's Richard Lotto won another three awards.
