An announcement from Mike Cotton's daughter......

"It is with much regret and sadness that I let you know that my father passed away very early this morning at the age of 82 following a short stay in a local nursing home. He worked for the BBC from 1956-1989. He will be missed. Please let any/all others that knew or worked with him this sad but not unexpected news.

Hello to the Cotton family. After reading the Smith enquiry report this evening I have just searched for Mike - I am so sorry and sad to find that he died so recently, I wish I'd looked for him sooner.

I have fond memories of sunny afternoons in your garden in Hounslow, and the all-weather daffodils. I will find time this weekend to celebrate your father's kindness and friendship to me while I worked at the BBC. Sending my very best wishes to you all...

The funeral will be at 1:30 on Monday 7 March at the
West Suffolk Crematorium
