Title: Licence Fee review?
Post by Administrator on Sep 9th, 2014, 7:09am

BBC News is reporting that :-

"Ministers are to review how payment of the TV licence fee is enforced amid concerns about the number of people appearing in court for evasion."

"In a speech to the Royal Television Society, Mr Sajid Javid (Culture Secretary) will say:-
"In 2012/13, almost 200,000 people ended up in court accused of not buying a TV licence, ....more than 50 were sent to prison."

Two agenda items that must be included are
1) A "paywall" for Iplayer that stops non-licence fee payers from logging on both here and overseas
2)Contingency plans for Scottish viewers/listeners should the referendum go "yes".

What else?

I live in SA and watch BBC I Player using a VPN. I ALSO PAY a UK LICENCE FEE as I would if I lived in the UK. I also worked for the BBC for 35 years... I don't feel too guilty
