According to the "Daily Mail" Lord Seb Coe will not become the next Chairman of the BBC Trust.

Lord Coe has withdrawn his candidacy early, as he wishes to pursue a more athletic-based future with the IAAF.

Good-the BBC does not need any more encouragement to further swamp it's airwaves with sport.

More importantly-what is needed now is a seriously tough politician who will fight like hell for the licence fee and restore lost credibility following the recent scandals and publicly aired senior management mistakes.

Coe's Olympic legacy was all about riding on the success of others and I would not mind guessing that that's where his heart still is and NOT with the challenge of turning round a struggling Corporation.
