Post by Administrator on Nov 22nd, 2013, 12:02pm According to "Broadband TV News", "A UK ICT consultant – Hull-based Jason Huntley – found by accident that his LG Smart TV was spying on him and sending extensive information about his TV viewing back to the Korean manufacturer. He found that his TV set has a default setting giving permission to send these data to LG." This story has since been updated here, where it reports an imminent LG update and "“LG regrets any concerns these reports may have caused and will continue to strive to meet the expectations of all our customers and the public. We hope this update clears up any confusion." |

Post by Roundabout on Nov 22nd, 2013, 8:27pm Just to help an ageing 1960s engineer and later Radio Producer (retired) understand this story could someone who is practised in the dark arts of 'Smart' TVs please explain by what means the information was actually transported back to the parent company? |
