Just a word of congratulations amongst all the gloom...Saturday's broadcast of the Lord Mayor's procession finally put right the shame of the River Pageant. By concentrating the viewpoint to one area and actually watching everything pass by ( which the River Pageant coverage lamentably failed to do)the Beeb team produced a programme worthy of it's name. On a weekend overloaded with OBs the team got the sense of celebration across under very trying weather conditions and with imaginative use of the technology. I for one looked on in envy at the mobile cameramen on their little sets of wheels bowling up and down!
