DG Tony Hall writes in "The Daily Mirror"

We lost your trust. We are now working hard to get it back.
As the new Director-General my job is to fix the problems of the past. The BBC lost its way on pay and we must put that right."

We were overwhelmingly white and male, but at least we were from all classes.
Since then things have gone backwards"
