Title: Watchdog's new home
Post by Administrator on Apr 15th, 2013, 4:57pm

This is from:- "televisual" here.

"The BBC consumer affairs series Watchdog is to be shot at The Hospital Club as part of relocation plans during the redevelopment of Television Centre.

BBC Studios and Post Production has joined forces with The Hospital Club to host the programme with production beginning on Watchdog's 32nd series at the Covent Garden-based studios in May 2013 and running for eight weeks.

BBC Studios and Post Production will continue to provide technical and production services to the makers of Watchdog and will work alongside The Hospital Club's operational team. "We’re excited about collaborating with other facility providers like The Hospital Club while we are away from Television Centre" said Charlotte Forde, commercial manager at BBC Studios and Post Production."

More information about "The Hospital Club" may be found here.

Honestly-Isn't this a waste of public money? The Hospital Club must cost a fortune. There is already stacks of studio space at Salford and in any case-in the good old days--Watchdog just came from the production office itself. Then-If they are really pushed-why don't they record the show during the day at the One Show studio in White City

Well it depends what you mean by the 'good old days'. I  would say in the good old days it was just part of 'Nationwide'.  ;)

.....which at the start was a far superior programme.

"Britain At Six" was Nationwide's working title when the initial pilots were done from LGS.
