Another example of our "lost Beeb." Came across it in the Properties Section of yesterday's Telegraph. Apartments for sale at Kingswood Warren on the following http://www.octagon.co.uk/homes/surrey/kingswood/kingswood-warren-park-development/kingswood-warren-park-apartments/
I never worked there or had any direct contact with Research Department but still find it all rather sad.

That sale summed up all that's wrong with today's BBC senior management.

KW was the home of probably the world's best R & D scientists, the BBC's. Much was invented and developed there; some of it actually marketed and licences sold providing the beeb with an income. The whole place was an Oxbridge style atmosphere, with the beautiful house and park adding much to thought processes!

I had the pleasure of working with a lot of staff there, though not based there myself. With the move from KW to office block accommodation in W12 or Salford many were disillusioned and chose to take early retirement or leave the BBC. A huge loss.
