I see in the UK press there is some problem with the traditional portrait of a retired DG for the Boardroom.
The Board are waiting for Tony Hall to decide if George Entwistle deserves a specially commissioned portrait after "54" days!!!!
There is a suggestion of a photo plus from another ex BBC colleague a photo on a canvas. He has two of his cats on his wall and they cost about 35 quid each.
I would suggest similar to the 3 flying ducks, a cutback version of two "Dart Boards" of John Birt and George Entwistle to be hung in the BBC Club wall for staff to enjoy themselves ( Unforetunetly" Out of Bounds" to retired BBC Staff!!!!) ;D

I think the BBC should offer George the opportunity, given his very considerable leaving payoff, to have a portrait hung with the others, but at his own expense. I could even recommend an artist; http://www.carolinesykes.co.uk/

Surely it would have been best-given current business priorities- to just "pass" on the whole issue?
