For those of us with Facebook accounts this news item on Yahoo may worry.

Also a lot of Facebook users are posting this comment:-
"In response to the new Facebook guidelines, I hereby declare that my copyright is attached to all of my personal details,status updates, messages, photo's, video's, and all other personal content that I post, or have posted, online, as a result of the Berne Convention, on my personal profile page, or anyone else's page. For commercial use of the above, MY WRITTEN CONSENT IS NEEDED AT ALL TIMES WITH NO EXCEPTION. "

You may care to try to meet the impossible 300 million (yes million) that Facebook say is needed to stop the further erosion of users rights!

Dickie Mint, I agree with you and share your worries.

Although I have created a ficticious "Facebook" account, I didn't progress with it any further as I was concerned with the same issues.

Wrong generation, I suppose, but I don't feel the need to share everything that happens with all-and-sundry.

SKYPE, now associated with Microsoft, is also digging, sharing with everyone. I wish it would stop looking into my Address-book and email addresses.......

Twitter seems to be a different beastie, in that all it is, is a place to post (if you wish) and connect (if you wish) with others. I use Twitter to view comments from journalists, news-crews and others involved with programme-making.

Facebook is a titan in the world of privacy- be worried.

I did have the sense to use a "throw away email address, from mail.com. Incidental they offer a range of @ addresses; I chose a @technologist.com one!

Didn't do that with Skype, though.
