the appointment of the new DG would seem to be imminent.

What sort of candidate will be successful?
Will they be "BBC through-and-through"?
Will they be a new-broom from (hushed voice) "outside"?

If you had a choice from the Guardian's suggested candidates, who would be the lucky winner?

Caroline Thomson, the BBC chief operating officer,

George Entwistle, the BBC Vision director,
