Title: BBC Worldwide restructure, exit Bennett
Post by Administrator on Jun 22nd, 2012, 2:39pm

BBC Worldwide reorganises structure.

From here:-

"Jana Bennett, President of Worldwide Networks and the Global BBC iPlayer, has decided to leave BBC Worldwide in late autumn following implementation of a major reorganisation of the company, as BBC Worldwide reconfigures the business from divisional to geographic lines. As a result, P&L ownership will move from the existing global divisions to a number of market and country facing business units."

And from here:-

"BBC Worldwide, the wholly owned commercial subsidiary of the BBC, today announces a reorganisation (from 1st October 2012) that will further increase its focus on international markets, enabling it to capture future growth opportunities around the world. At the same time, BBC Worldwide is creating new global roles to establish strong direction and consistency around content, editorial, brands, sales and digital.

... Commenting on the changes, John Smith, CEO of BBC Worldwide, said:

“The new organisation is designed to help us capture untapped opportunities for high quality British content and BBC branded services across the world, in order to sustain our track record of strong growth into the future. It has been worked out over a number of months, with inputs from across the world, and throughout our company. I believe it will accelerate delivery of our global ambition, and help us drive future growth and returns to the BBC, supplementing the licence fee.”
