Title: BBC Weather Forecasts to blame..
Post by Administrator on Jun 20th, 2012, 8:44pm

'Deliberately pessimistic weather forecasts scaring tourists away', holiday park bosses say.

According to "The Daily Telegraph". ...

BBC weather forecasters have denied frightening tourists away from British seaside resorts, after holiday park owners accused them of issuing “deliberately pessimistic” warnings.
One holiday park director condemned weather forecasts as “increasingly alarmist”, while another criticised meteorologists for attempting to “cover all eventualities” for fear of getting it wrong.

How can this be when most BBC forecasters spend half their allocated time telling audiences about what the weather has been/done in the last 24 hours, what it is doing at the moment and what stupid long term records have been broken?

Having said that, did anyone notice that there was a complete lack of any local forecasting during the Jubilee weekend-other than for London
(with deadly accuracy!). This was seriously odd-since BBC forecasters are usually always blurting on how weather is going to add value or ruin competitive organised fun-on the assumption that it is the ONLY reason people go outside their front doors!

At least it will take the blame away from the engineers.
