Title: Does BBC footage of "Lewis's Store,Liverpool"exist Post by TerenceJ on May 22nd, 2010, 9:26pm As many ex-BBC-er's in the Northwest will know Lewis's Dept store will cease trade after 156 years of trading on 29th May.Please Does anyone know if any BBC Footage exists of the store in its heydey-particularly when the basement was flooded in the 1940's to create a "Venice on Mersey" effect with gondolas, marble pillars and Romanesque sculpture. Similarly if any BBC webpages or other sites exist with stills please could readers kindly post? Thankyou Terence |
